Greenhouse vs Corporate Weed.
We know it’s a bold statement, but we’re a bold store. We get the question all the time; What makes The Greenhouse different from “Corporate Weed?”
The Greenhouse is 100% locally owned and operated. There’s no out of state investors to answer to. There’s no shareholders making decisions that benefit “the bottom line” at the expense of employees and customers. That’s “Corporate Weed.”
Greenhouse owner Jerry Millen has been involved in Michigan’s cannabis community for over 15 years. He’s been a grower, a caregiver, and an advocate. Jerry was a member of the community that spent years lobbying the state, first to get the medical marijuana program created back in 2008, then recreational a decade later. He’s had his hands in the soil, and “paid his dues” for years. He didn’t buy his way into the industry once legalization was a certainty. That’s “Corporate Weed.”
From Jerry on down, everyone at The Greenhouse uses cannabis, because we love and believe in cannabis. “Corporate Weed” don't get high on their own supply.
We always put our patients and customers first. “Corporate Weed” puts “expansion” first. Our top priority is making sure that every patient and customer that visits The Greenhouse has a great experience. “Corporate Weeds” top priority is opening 20 stores across the state in less than a year.
The Greenhouse takes chances. It's part of why we're in the cannabis industry. We do things like “Pot for Shots,” have upside down billboards, and give away hundreds of Popeye’s chicken sandwiches at the height of the craze on a Friday, because we thought it sounded like a fun idea two days before. Corporate weed is conservative, conventional, and kind of boring.
Most importantly, we believe in being a positive and active member of our local community. We adopt families during the holidays, host community events like our annual “Trunk or Treat,” and have been leading the effort to restore a local landmark, the Banks-Dolbeer House. If it’s a Friday in the spring chances are you’ll see a local Girl Scout troop selling cookies in front of our store. We love Walled Lake. We’re grateful to be here. “Corporate” just wants to sell weed.
