Our Story
The Greenhouse of Walled Lake opened its doors in 2019 as Oakland County's very first licensed medical dispensaries, and it didn't take long for us to become a name people trusted in Michigan cannabis. From day one, our approach has stayed the same: quality product, real education, and showing up for the community that supports us.
In March 2020, we made history again, opening as Oakland County's first licensed recreational dispensary, just as the world turned upside down. When COVID-19 forced businesses to adapt overnight, we built one of the most efficient curbside pickup operations in the state, keeping the line moving and our customers taken care of without missing a beat.
We've stayed proudly independent and locally owned ever since. No corporate parent company, no outside investors calling the shots. That independence is what lets us put people ahead of profit margins, quality ahead of expansion, and our community ahead of a bottom line.
Who We Are
We're Michigan cannabis people through and through: advocates, educators, and genuine experts in the plant. Owner Jerry Millen has spent well over a decade on the front lines of cannabis legalization in this state, fighting for patient access and better laws long before The Greenhouse ever opened its doors. That same passion runs through every person on our team.
Being independently owned gives us the freedom to do things our own way. We hand-select the best products from Michigan's most trusted growers and processors, so everything on our shelves is clean, lab-tested, and something we'd stand behind ourselves. Our budtenders are trained to educate, not upsell, offering honest, judgment-free recommendations tailored to what you actually need.
We don't answer to investors or a corporate office. We answer to our neighbors.
